Learning Together Workshops – SPRING 2018

Aviation Exploration

Join this introduction to flying course. Start the day at Preston Middle School by exploring different phases of flight on a simulator. Learn to take off, turn, straight and level, approaches and landing. There will be a field trip to the Fort Collins, Loveland airport to meet flight instructors, view aircraft, and enjoy lunch in the hangar, so pack a lunch to enjoy with us. Attending adult responsible for travel to and from the airport. The day will close back at Preston.

  • Cost:  $50
  • For Middle and High School students grades 6-12 with (required) attending adult.

Through global collaboration with New Brunswick, The Dominican Republic, and Uganda, Engineering Brightness participants are engineering 3D printed, sustainable lanterns and distributing them to people without reliable electricity worldwide!

Bermuda Oceanography Trip – SUMMER 2019

BERMUDA OCEANOGRAPHY TRIP—6 days / 5 nights

BERMUDA INSTITUTE OF OCEAN SCIENCES (BIOS)

JUNE 3 – 8, 2019

Parents and students pack up your snorkel gear and join us for an Oceanography Trip in Bermuda!  We will take ten parent/student pairs to Bermuda for a week of science fun and learning exploring the ocean environment of Bermuda while staying at the BIOS (Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences) site.  Everything is included in the cost:  rooms, food, transportation on the island, admission fees, and instructor costs

Parents and students will get to participate in all activities as we learn about the history of Bermuda and experience the animals/plants found on land and in the sea.  Snorkeling, kayaking, caving, tide pooling, exploring a beautiful island with all its scientific and historical wonders, it’s all included!  Cost is $1500 per person plus airfare.

INFORMATIONAL MEETING:  November 1st at 6:30-7:00pm in Room S104
